April Sepich creates fine art and home decor from century old tin ceiling tiles!
She is a reclaimed materials artist. The majority of her work is created with reclaimed, century old tin ceiling tiles. Once a ceiling is harvested, the tiles are cleaned, mounted to a framework, glazed with a multi layered alkyd glaze, and then sun-fired and combined with other reclaimed architectural, industrial and found-object elements into dimensional wall sculptures and functional art. April also creates a line of “cottage style” work that retains the character and charm of the natural, century old material. Keeping the original finish, she creates flowers, wreaths, mirrors, wall organizers, sconces and a wealth of other pieces that keep the rust and chippy paint intact.
